DisneyPlus Hotstar launches in India

Finally, Disney + Hotstar has launched in India from April 3. Hotstar, a settled streaming service in India has joined forces with Disney + looking to overtake the likes of other popular streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The launch date was scheduled for March 29 but somehow went on to postpone for April 3.

Disney + Hostar will be streaming contents in nine different languages including, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati.

Good news if you are a Marvel fan as now you can watch all the Marvel Cinematic movies on Disney + Hotstar.

New Logo on Show

Hostar has changed its logo to Disney + Hotstar. The logo is the same as we saw in the brief beta release last month. The new logo is totally different in terms of Hotstar’s precious yellow star logo. The new logo falls more towards Disney’s iconic blue color.

For Disney Fans in India

One of the essential things about Disney + Hotstar is the integration of Disney+ content. The app has a separate section for all Disney + content. They made space for Disney+ removing the news section on the previous Hotstar app. Under Disney +, you discover different categories like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

The “Recommend For You” section includes titles like The Mandalorian, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book. Below, you will also find the “New to Disney+” tab followed by Originals, Trending, Hit Movies, and more.

Parental Controls

Disney+ Hotstar app also comes with parental controls option. The app includes a “Kids Safe” mode, which can be turned on for age-appropriate content. It can be enabled by tapping on the hamburger icon on top and turning on the Kids Safe feature toggle.

Changes in User Interface

When it comes to changes in the user interface, there’s not a huge difference compared to the previous Hotstar app. One little change is that it includes the crown and star icon for premium and VIP plans, respectively. They are now classified simply by “P” and “V”

Disney + Hotstar Subscription Plans

Disney + Hotstar offers two subscription plans for its users – VIP and Premium.

Disney Plus Hotstar VIP – Rs 399/Year

With the Disney Plus Hotstar VIP subscription, you will get to enjoy all the content from Marvel Cinematic Universe with the best superheroes movies like Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, and Ragnarok. It’s not just the Marvel Cinematic movies; you will also be able to watch films from Disney, including Frozen, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Toy Story 4.

No doubt, Bollywood movies will also be available with Hotstar Originals and live sports.

Disney Plus Hotstar VIP was initially planned at Rs. 365/year.

Disney Plus Hostar Premium – Rs 1,499/Year

Before the collaboration with Disney Plus, Hotstar’s premium plan was priced at Rs.999/year. But now, the price has been raised, but it’s reasonable. With this plan, you will be able to enjoy all the benefits from the VIP subscription. In addition to that, you will be able to watch English language content and 29 Disney+ originals which include, The Mandalorian, High School Musical, The Musical: The Series, and others. By subscribing to Premium, you can watch the latest from American shows from HBO, Fox, and Showtime.

Existing subscribers will be automatically upgraded to the new subscription according to their subscription plan on renewal.

What About Free Users?

Well, if you are a free user, you will still be able to watch match highlights, match analysis of IPL, Premier League, ISL, BCCI cricket series, and individual performances. Besides, you get to watch some daily movies, TV shows, on-demand news in eight different languages.
