Angela initially took training to be a medical technologist in Stuttgart. But due to her interest in acting and theatres, she went to Munich to take acting classes from Ernst Fritz F?rbringer, a German actor. Just after two years, Peter Fleischmann, a German Film director, offered her to play the lead role in his movie Hunting Scenes from Bavaria?in 1969. He offered her a job at the Berliner Schaub?hne, a famous German theatre located in Berlin, where she performed in this theatre from 1971 to 1978.
In 1975, the next movie she acted on The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, gained her stardom in the movie industry. As a result, she achieved the Filmband in Gold, one of the most prestigious awards in Germany for portraying the lead role of Katharina Blum in the movie.
